Planetary gearbox motor It can provide low-speed, high torque output and is widely used in various electronic products, such as luggage locks, Bluetooth locks, etc. There are various types of gearboxes in DC motors that can provide high torque and low speed. What are the differences between planetary gearboxes and other gearboxes?
TF plastic gear planetary reducer
From the gear diagram of the planetary reduction motor, it can be seen that there are multiple gears surrounding a central gear along the inner gear rim of the reducer, which is called the sun gear. When the planetary reduction motor is running, the output shaft of the DC motor drives the sun gear to rotate, and the surrounding gears will rotate around the sun gear together. This transmission layout is very similar to the planets in the solar system revolving around the sun, so it is called a "planetary gearbox".
The working principle of planetary gearbox motor:
When the micro DC motor drives the sun gear to rotate, the planetary gear "rotates" under the meshing effect with other planetary gears. The "rotation" of the planetary gear drives the ring gear on the inner wall of the reducer housing to rotate. The planetary gear will rotate in the same direction as the sun gear on the ring gear, forming a "revolution" motion around the sun gear.
There are multiple planetary gears in a planetary gearbox, and the above picture shows three plastic planetary gears. The more planetary gears there are, the greater the output torque and the lower the speed. The speed input from the micro DC motor to the sun gear passes through several gears, and the final output speed slows down. The reduction ratio of a planetary gear motor is determined by the number of teeth on the circumference of the annular ring gear and the sun gear. A single reduction gear can be used for a reduction ratio between 3 and 10, and for higher ratios, multi-stage gears of 2 or more are required.
The transmission efficiency of planetary gear motors can reach over 97%, which is very ideal for micro gear motors.
Summarize the function of planetary gear motors:
1. Reduce the rotational speed;
2. Increase torque
3. Adjust the inertia matching between the mechanical load on the application side and the motor on the drive side.
